Invisalign

The days of uncomfortable, protruding metal braces are over. At Synergy Dental, we can get you the straight teeth you want using Invisalign. Our Invisalign treatment provides a comfortable and subtle alternative to braces.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a set of see-through dental aligners custom-made for each individual, to adjust the position of their teeth. These clear braces have been extremely successful in creating straight, beautiful smiles, without the discomforts and inconveniences associated with traditional braces. Invisalign aligners alter the wearer’s appearance very little and are smooth and comfortable to wear.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Your dentist will first take a digital scan of your teeth to determine the best way to give you a set of beautiful, straight teeth. Then your dentist will create a set of clear braces for each stage of the smile-straightening process. The number of stages will vary based on individual needs and how far the teeth need to be adjusted.

You will switch out aligners every one to two weeks. Invisalign should be worn for about 20 hours out of each 24 hour day. The average treatment lasts between 6 and 18 months. Invisalign molds are removable for your convenience and almost undetectable to those around you.

Advantages of Invisalign over Metal Braces

  • Increased Comfort | Metal braces can be very uncomfortable for the wearer. The inner lip is often bothered by the rough metal that is constantly rubbing against it. This means irritation, sores, and bleeding for the wearer. When wires are not cut right or if there is any other defect in the braces, this discomfort can increase. Invisalign aligners fit your teeth seamlessly and don’t jut out or rub against the inside of your mouth. With Invisalign, you won’t have to worry about applying wax and revisiting your dentist to trim down pokey wires.
  • Less Maintenance | Flossing with metal braces requires special tools and extra time. Metal braces cannot be removed, so at the end of your treatment, there can be tooth discoloration. Invisalign, however, is removable, so your regular oral care habits will not require much adjustment.
  • Improved Appearance | Most people around you will not even know you are straightening your teeth. These clear braces are subtle, leaving you looking just as great as you always have.
